Singing Women of Texas

Rose Collins graduated from Western Michigan University with a BS  Degree in Music and Fine Arts.  Her original focus was in the art of  Opera and classical singing.  She had some wonderful opportunities to  sing with the Detroit Symphony and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestras while  living in Michigan.  Rose married Ken Collins in 1979 and by 1982,  they were residents of Rosenberg, Texas.  Ken and Rose have two  precious daughters,
Lacey and Shannon, and three equally precious  grandchildren, Luke, Emma and Bella.

Since 1987, Rose has participated in children’s music programs in and  around the Fort Bend County area.  She has taught and directed music  for Pre-K through 12th grade. Currently, Rose is a music specialist at  McNeill Elementary School in the Lamar CISD school district.

"I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior when  I was eight years old in a Vacation Bible School.  I have been a  member of the Calvary Baptist Church Adult Choir since 1984 and have  used my voice ever since to share the gospel through music.  I have  led in worship through several women’s ministry retreats over the  years and sing together with my husband Ken when we get the chance. In 1997, I joined the Singing Women of Southeast Texas and have sung  with this organization for most of the 15 years of its existence.  I  have been blessed over the years to be a part of this wonderful group  of women.  God has directed my path through life even when I didn’t  understand what He was doing.  To God be the glory for the things He has done."  Rose Collins
